“Then Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest”
– Matthew 11:28 NLT
We are all humans and need support and help from time to time.
Most people seek out therapy when they are in emotional pain. Usually they don’t even know exactly what is wrong, they just know that they are hurting.
Clients often come in because they are feeling sad, alone, overwhelmed, angry, betrayed, abandoned, or lost. Sometimes they feel stuck and unable to change the way they are feeling and those feelings are interrupting their life, maybe getting in the way of their dreams or goals.
Most know that they want the bad feelings to stop and that something has to change, but they do not know how to do it.
I start with providing genuine, unconditional positive regard for all of my clients. My experience has taught me that it is within this genuine, intimate, trusting relationship that people feel safe enough and empowered enough to change.
Our licensed therapists are here for you.
I work with my clients with the understanding that we are equals. I may have struggled with similar issues as you, or have worked on the challenges with other strugglers. So I am able to be empathetic and work with you where you are in your life’s journey and your faith.
I have focused my practice on helping people struggling with relationship problems such as:
- Marital disenchantment
- Communication problems
- Conflict resolution skills
- Family struggles with parenting kids, (especially teenagers!)
- Launching young adults
- Divorced couples attempting to be good “co-parents” of their children while starting their lives separately
- Blending of families in remarriage
I have a heart for working with individual adults, adolescents, and children struggling with:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Panic attacks
- Grieving
- Post Traumatic Stress
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder
- Victims of sexual abuse and incest
- Spiritual Crisis
As a lifelong believer in Jesus Christ, I also have seen God’s miraculous sustaining grace hold me up. As a 17-year Breast Cancer Survivor, I am in a unique position to utilize my own painful experience to help women or their families suffering from this or other forms of cancer and chronic illness.
